China to ‘swoop’ on Afghanistan as Taliban ‘roll out crimson carpet’ following US troop exit


China stands able to capitalize on Joe Biden’s choice to finish army operations in Afghanistan. A WION TV host has warned that the Taliban is standing by to “rollout out the red carpet” to Beijing with the final US troops set to go away the area by August 31. It comes amid concern as Taliban forces seize swathes of territory throughout Afghanistan as western forces pull out.

WION presenter Palki Sharma mentioned the Taliban is looking out for allies”those who do not believe in democracy or basic freedoms of power-sharing.”

“I will give you an example,” mentioned the reporter, “The Taliban says it is ready to welcome China into Afghanistan with open arms.”

“They see Beijing as a friend they want to roll out the red carpet for China.

“They need China to start reconstruction work in Afghanistan quote on quote ‘as quickly as doable’.”

Ms Sharma continued: “These are the phrases of Taliban spokesperson Suhail Shaheen let me quote from what he mentioned, he mentioned ‘we welcome them if they’ve investments, in fact we guarantee their security. Their security is essential for us.’

“China’s safety is very important for the Taliban they say,” added the WION host.

Quoting the Taliban spokesperson she continued: “We have been to China many times and we good relations with them.

“China is a pleasant nation that we welcome for reconstruction and creating Afghanistan.”

It comes as US President Joe Biden was lammed over the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan.

Biden’s stance has been slammed by former UN Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter.

Mr Ritter told RT: “If all we needed to do was kill Bin Laden and annihilate AL-Queda we acquired have finished that a lot sooner with out taking that which we did undertake.

“We did build a nation in Afghanistan, a failed nation and now we are abandoning it.

“I might be the final individual to argue for a continued American army presence however we should be trustworthy with the Afghan folks.
